NOTABLE REVIEWS
THE RIVALS
From "Chasing 'The Rivals' on a Summer's Evening" by Laura Collins-Hughes
Jack’s friend Faulkland (David Friedlander), whose deranged insecurity makes him question Julia’s devotion at every turn...the only character who seems flesh and blood. He’s delightful to watch: ridiculous and surprisingly sympathetic.
MIDDLEMEN
A Broken Copier and Other Calamities by Ken Jawororski
David Friedlander, as Michael, ably embodies a character whose calm surface hides a troubled soul. They’re a finely matched pair, completely dedicated to their roles.
STONES IN HIS POCKETS
From "Quick Change Tales" by Byron Woods
Friedlander brought wit and humanity to Jake, an Irish homeboy who's related to most of the locals. He and Charlie, convincingly read by Alley, ride a dragon made of tinsel through film-land's absurdities and sobering twists. Both laugh and make us care, in a nothing-hidden theater whose magic leaves us pondering, days later, "Just how did they do that?" Highly recommended.
THE LAST NIGHT OF BALLYHOO
THE LAST NIGHT OF BALLYHOO at Florida Rep is Cheerful and Charming!
The show's comedic timing was excellent...The cast
all truly brought their characters to life, and created a very distinct persona for the roles they portrayed.
